Summary:
The story follows Raymond Jaffe, a 17-year-old biracial teenager who feels out of place both at home and at school. His home life is an unhappy one, and Raymond doesn’t have much to look forward to until one day, Raymond meets Millie Guterman, a 92-year-old blind woman. Millie asks Raymond, "Have you seen Luis Velez? her caretaker who has suddenly vanished.
Together they develop a beautiful friendship, and their world suddenly gets brighter with their newfound pursuit of Millie’s caretaker.
