Institution & Museum Passes

Passes are available to West Hempstead Public Library cardholders, age 18 and over, in good standing.

Passes must be reserved for the day you will use the pass. Only one pass may be checked out per family, per loan period - Monday/Tuesday, Wednesday/Thursday, Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Print-on-Demand. Each family may place reserves for museum passes up to 5 times a month. However, if a pass is available (unreserved) passes may be borrowed on a walk-in basis. Patrons are responsible for checking with the museum to confirm hours.

Print-on-Demand Pass: Passes may be reserved in advance. Admission tickets are emailed and can be printed from home or at the Library. This pass will only be valid for the date of visit listed on the ticket, so request the pass for the day you wish to use it.

Pick Up/Return Pass: Passes may be reserved one month in advance and picked up at the library. These passes must be returned on the last day of the loan period at the Reference Desk or in the Audio-Visual Drop-Box before 9 a.m. on the next day. For example, if you reserved a pass for Wednesday/Thursday it is due back before 9 a.m. on Friday. You may pick up your pass from the Reference Desk any time during the reserve period.

Discounted Tickets: Tickets are available for purchase at a discounted price. Tickets are subject to availability. Certain tickets are purchased directly from vendor, others must be purchased in the library. The library requires exact change and will not accept a bill larger than a twenty.

To cancel a reservation, cardholders must call the Reference Desk or cancel the reserve online. Cancelled reservations count towards the 5 reservations permitted per month. Frequent cancellations or non-pickup of passes may result in suspension of privileges for 3 months. The fine for an overdue pass is $10.00 per day. The minimum replacement cost for a lost pass is $50.00. Any fees incurred by a patron will be added to the patron's library card account. Any amounts of $25.00 or more will be reported to the library's collection agency.

Please note: Each household is eligible for one museum pass per loan period.

Cradle of Aviation - Print on Demand

Admits 2 adults, and 4 children (ages 2-12). Empire Pass (Parking) - Pick Up/Return at Library

The Empire Pass permits vehicle access to many state parks and campgrounds; popular parks include Hempstead Lake, Jones Beach, and Montauk Point. The pass does not guarantee free vehicle entry during special events and there is no waiver of fees for other activities.
